How to Optimize Air Purifier FlowPosted 04/28/2016 at 03:32 PMWe are asked all the time about how to get the best performance from their Rocky Mountain Air® Purifier. Even the best air purifier needs to be used the right way. Keep these few tips in mind for best results. As far as features are concerning, we recommend running the STERILIZE and ANION features 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The following is an explanation of the function each of these features.

The STERILZE feature may be turned ON/OFF at a touch of a button. Having this feature ON serves (2) purposes:

  1. It turns on the dual Germicidal UV lamps which destroys viruses, bacteria, mold spores, etc. in the air drawn through the purifier.
  2. It activates the TiO2 coating on the Photo-Catalytic filter which destroys VOC's and odors, as well as combats viruses and bacteria.

The ANION feature may be turned ON/OFF at a touch of a button as well. This feature makes particles in the air such as dust, dander, and pollen, heavy and drops this particulate to the ground and out of the air you breathe.

Initially, in the first few weeks, you will notice the need to sweep and dust more frequently. That's how you know it working. Over time as the particulate is removed from the air, the need to dust/sweep as often will diminish. Remember, the dust didn't get there overnight so it won't disappear overnight either.

And purifiers, just like in real estate, "location, location, location" is very important -- The greater the distance from the floor, the greater the effectiveness of the unit. Picture a can of spray paint. When you depress the nozzle, the paint sprays straight out and then drifts through the air and, because it is heavier than the air, the paint then drops down through the air and to the ground. The same principal may be applied to the purifier... The higher the purifier, the more air it will affect.

Mis-locating the purifier on the floor, or behind a chair in the corner, or even in a "dead" airflow area will prevent your purifier from doing its job - to clean the air.
